99 Bricks

See? I told you we’d have some new years content. BTW, since Thursday and Wednesday were new years, Nuggets will be next week.

Review:

99 Bricks is like Tetris, but with actual physics. The goal is that you have 99 bricks, but instead of getting rid of it all, you try and build the hightest tower you can.  However, rember when I said it had physics? It did. If you build too high and put a -|
brick on a another one of which that one is on a | brick, it can collapse. The simple art is like tetris, and is stylish.

I highly recommend you play this game. It’s that addictive.

Review:

Qix is a timeless classic in video gaming. If you played this before, (in a arcade!) you know how to play. If not, check Wikipedia.

Everything is pretty much left the same as the original, but you can’t save high scores, and the controls are different. (Z for fast, X for slow)

But still, it’s a great game and I would highly recommend it.

Review:

You know Breakout in the arcade era? I don’t, but this game combine elements of that with some others.

You control a ball with the arrow keys, and bounce off steel walls, move wooden blocks, break coloured and light steel blocks, and eventually get to the exit, while getting as many points you can quickly. It even has a level editor for you level creators.

Unfortunately, the game still lacks polish, such as buttons’ text and unnecessary CPU usage – it just makes my PC’s CPU whirr.

This game has pontential, and is is fun, but has some problems. Recommended.

Excit

Review:

Excit has a spreadsheet-like feel to it. You guide a cursor with the arrow keys and you stop when the cursor hits a wall. You keep moving until you reach the exit. Simple, right? Wrong! You have to use the arrows, keys and locks, transporters, slopes, one-way tubes, optionally collect logos and not run off the screen.

Excit combines retro fun with a safe-for-work puzzle game. Highly recommended.
